Perhaps some of you might wonder (or not) about what I do to get rid of some of that post-baby fats? Well, it's not that easy, but I can manage it. I am not totally there yet, but I know I can do it. I did it before and there is no reason for me not to do it this time. Only it takes a bit more work. When I had my first baby, I had the motivation to get rid of the extra weight because we had planned on visiting Florida at that time, so that became my inspiration. I wanted to look good and feel good about myself while wearing swimsuit at the beach and basking in the glory of the sun and get some tan. I made it (with a lot of sweat, tears and emotional outburst) and I was happy about myself. I may never get to my pre-pregnancy weight and body, but all I want is to stay fit and in shape, and get the habit of working out. I think motivation, inspiration and support from people you love are the things that can get you through this. Trust me, there are times when my mind says I want to run or workout, but my body says no because just thinking about it makes me tired already. But you need that push to get you to that first stage, then once you start doing it, you feel good and you feel proud about yourself. Let me get you in on some of the things that I do as my workout. When you don't have a gym near you or can't afford to go to one, don't freak out. You can use your home or your backyard as your gym like playing with your kids or with your dogs perhaps, run around the yard, or just move! Don't I sound like Jillian Michaels now lecturing you about how to get in shape? Anyway, this is my mama workout!
I like to run around our yard trail because it is safer than being out on the streets (we don't have a trail in town that is safe to go) and I can be with my kids. You know, I am a stay-at-home mom so I take care of two kids. Just that little bit of running time helps or walking. I like to have a music on while running. It keeps me going and forget that I am actually running. You kind of get into that transition.
After running for like about a mile, which is eight rounds around our yard trail, I like to do the non-stop hula hoop for 30 minutes.
My kids get to be with me in our yard when dadda is not around, but when dadda is around, I get to have my ME time.
I just want to move and moving is good! It's when you are not moving, that you don't burn anything.
Sorry, I look so hideous when I workout because I am serious about it. This stuff is serious and intense, people! *smile* *wink* I am working on my flabby abs. Since I had a C-section, it is a bit difficult for me on loosing that flabby mid-section of my body. My stomach has yet to gain some muscle, but it is not fully recovered. One thing I can do though is my food intake. Moderation is the key for me. Don't get me wrong, once in a while I would splurge and treat myself in some chocolate ice cream or chocolate cake that I make as a reward for doing such a great job. But I don't go crazy just because I have given myself one day of splurging. It's not really that easy, but with motivation you can do it!
And one more thing! When you set your goals, don't say "I want to loose weight and be skinny like the model or an actress you saw in the picture. I want to be skinny like her." NO! Because we all have different body types and she might be skinnier and you are not. Just work with what you got! Being healthy and sexy doesn't mean you have to be skinny. Being fit, in shape, confident and happy is what I call sexy! I am no pro, but that I can tell you! I hope you enjoy my share for today. I hope you see this as an inspiration and not something to make you feel bad about yourself because I would never do that. Enjoy your day!
To answer the question of who takes my photos? It's my one and only trusty friend the TRIPOD and with my camera's timer. I know! Because most of the time my husband is at work so I have no one to take my photos, but when he is around he is my photographer.
