Product Review: Nectar Sunglasses

The heat is on and it's time to enjoy some outdoor fun! But don't forget to protect your skin with some sunscreen. And, you know what else you need to protect? Yes, your eyes. Since you can't protect your eyes with the use of sunscreen, thank goodness for sunglasses. And while you are protecting those precious eyes of yours, why not looking stylish as well in a pair of Polarized Desperado Sunglasses, like the one I am wearing in the photos. My Review:

- First, I want to be honest about what I felt about these glasses when I got it in the mail. I wasn't really impressed with it. It's because at that point I thought the glasses are going to be one of those that are cheapo and won't last. It is thin, it feels delicate, I was so afraid to use it that I might break it. But boy, was I wrong! 

- I was surprised at how comfortable it feels when wearing it and never have I had any problems with these glasses. Even my husband likes the feel of the sunglasses and he is very particular about the type of sunglasses he wears. I love, love, love these and it has become and instant favorite. When I ordered these Desperado glasses, I was also concerned that the fit might not be right, but it is. 

- About the Polarized part, well, I am not an expert on this one. But I have noticed that the colors and the objects appear clearer. I like the color of the lenses, it doesn't bother me, it is just comfortable. I have been wearing it a lot ever since I got it. I am a happy customer! 

- One thing I want to add is that the Desperado Sunglasses came in with the Nectar Sunglasses bag and a glass cleaning cloth. 

- If this was my money spent, was it worth the buy? - Absolutely! In fact, I want another pair of sunglasses from Nectar, probably the KIWI or CYPRESS. They are so cute!

- "Very nice shirt, dadda!" It was the compliment my husband got from his dear son when he wore this shirt to school. It really is a nice colored shirt and according to my husband, it is comfortable to wear. He is one happy customer! 

- I like the color of blue on my husband because it also compliments the color of his eyes, which are blue. It pops!

My Own Review: 

- It is one very useful Microfleece jacket for me because it gets really cold here in Wyoming. It is a perfect piece to wear during the mild winter, but also a perfect layering piece for when the weather turns frigid. And I also love the color Amethyst Purple, which as I have noticed lately, I have a lot of purple in my closet. Must be my new favorite color without even noticing it. 

- The only thing I didn't like about this is that I asked them the size Small, but they sent me size Medium, which is a bit big on me. But I did stick it in the dryer to shrink it up a little bit. I do however like the extra room it has for layering and for hiding whatever it is I need to hide in my middle section. You know, when you eat too much during the winter (LOL). 

- It is not too thick of a jacket or too thin, but somewhere in between. 

- If it was my own money used to buy these products, I would say it was still a good buy. My conversation with my husband about the bag.
Me: Yaye! I am so happy I got my very first pure leather bag. 
Husband: (As I was opening the package) Woooo.... it smells like a real leather!
Me: (Giving him that look) Duh! It is real leather. It's Cowhide. I love it so much, but the straps are too long even if I adjust it. I will figure out a way.
Husband: (Looking at me with a smile) I would be very happy to use the bag. 

I knew he wanted the bag and yes, I am happy to give it to him. Plus, it looks better on him, anyway. Now I wish I had gotten a smaller one like the Drifter or the Victoria, which would be perfect for my size or I would have not lost my own leather bag. (LOL) Seriously, I am glad my husband loves it. 

I certainly don't know much about leather, but these are what I think of the bag. 

The smell: I talked about the smell of the bag because you can also tell if a certain product is a pure leather. The bag was packed in a plastic to preserve that smell and it is not chemically manufactured, and the smell is nothing obnoxious. 

The Color: The actual color of the bag is actually darker than the ones you see in the pictures above. It is a golden honey like color. Beautiful! 

It Is Handmade: When you buy any bags from the Far Horizon Traders, you are guaranteed that they are handmade. And that also adds to the charm of this Sahara bag that I got. The stitching may not be perfectly straight or it may not be perfect at all and looking so rugged, but this is your everyday kind of bag that can handle the everyday abuse. Still, it is beautiful in its own rugged way. 

It has a zipper for extra security and the zipper glides smoothly. The back has another large pocket for extra storage and easy access of things. 

Take note: The inside of the bag is not padded, so make sure to take extra careful when you load your iPad, Laptop, or any other kind of electronics you might carry. 

Pockets: The bag has a lot of room inside to store things while you are out and about. There is a medium size pocket inside, which fits a point and shoot camera. A few loops for your pencils and pen. One large pocket on the back part, and on the left side has a small exterior pocket, which is handy to store little things that you need access right away without opening the entire bag. 

Handle: One of the reasons why I chose this bag is because of the top handle. I like to be able to switch the load off of the shoulders and be able to carry it using the handle. It has a bit of a cushioning inside the handle so it is comfortable. 

The Strap: It does not have a lot of cushioning, it is wide, and it is adjustable. Since I am short, it is way too long for me even after adjusting the length of the straps, so this bag is built for tall people and built for men. It is perfect for my husband. I also wish it had a slider adjustment or add a few more holes on the strap to adjust it shorter. 

The Hardware: The Far Horizon Traders' definitely not messing around with the hardware they are using, which features genuine brass hardware for strength. It adds that tough, rugged, masculine look to the bag. And oh! Did I ever mention how heavy this bag is? It is.

What I love about it?

- This half-zip top really is warm to wear. I find myself wearing this a lot, even at home just the top and the leggings together and I am all warm and comfortable. I am wearing the top right now as I am writing this review. 

- Nothing itchy. The textured fleece lining is soft against your skin. 

- Thick enough, but not bulky. 

- It also has thumb loops, which you can't see in the photo. The thumb loops keep your sleeves down to keep the warmth in. And it is helpful when you wear it under your jacket to hold your sleeves down and won't roll up. 

- The zipper easily zips up and down.

What I love about this product? 

- It feels so comfortable against your skin. That textured fleece lining inside is nothing itchy. It is soft and like I said, it is comfortable. 

- While I went for a run on a very windy day, it kept me plenty warm without overheating. 

- The material is not something cheap at all that would fall apart easily. It is thick enough, but not bulky when worn under your regular clothes. 

- It also has the thumb loops. 

- I am happy with the product.

- I love how cute the top looks. I mean, the combination of black and the neon green is adorable. My son even wears this base layer to school just as a top and it is warm enough inside the school. 

- So far I have not heard any complaints from this kid that the base layer is uncomfortable. He seems to love it and in no hurry to take it off. It is really soft and comfortable for my little man to wear. The same thing goes with the pants. 

- I also love that it is anti-pill because who wants a piece of clothing that pills off? 

- Very happy with the products. 

He is wearing both the Terramar Top and Pants to school. 

All in all, we are very happy with the products that we got from Terramar. Product Review: Terramar Girls ThermoLite Fleece 3.0 For The Little Girl

Earlier this month, my family and I came home from our Christmas vacation in Kansas and we were excited when we saw what was inside the huge box waiting in front of our doorstep. The box was from Terramar and I was honestly very surprised at how much things they sent us. I was just expecting they would send me one or two complimentary items for a product review, but I was wrong. They sent us a whole bunch of base layer garments for my family to use. We are in the middle of winter and it is perfect that these items came in the mail. The night that we opened the box, we were so excited that we had to try them on right away and never took it off. We huddled up on the couch, watch a movie with the kids and went to bed wearing our warm and comfortable Terramar base layers on. How wonderful!

What Do We Like About It?

- Soft against my little girl's skin. 

- She feels comfortable in it. Nothing itchy. The base layer is the one closest to the skin so it is important to be soft and comfortable. And kids will definitely tell you if you they are comfy or not. 

- No tag sticking out of the back of the neck so it doesn't irritate my little girl. 

- It helps keep her warm and toasty while playing outside in the cold. 

- It has held pretty well in the wash and hasn't shrunk or anything. Of course, I am not going to stick it in the dryer. I hang dry it. 

- As for the sizing, the size is just right. She is wearing a size 2T. Nothing too tight or too loose. 

- The construction is really good, no loose stitching and I can see it last longer.  

What We Don't Like About It?

- I wish the Girls Crew top had the thumb loops because not only it helps keep the warmth in, it also helps when putting on another jacket or sweater over it. What happens is I have to retrieve the sleeves that are rolled half-way up. I have to ask her to hang on to the ends of her sleeves first before putting another layer on. 

- With the Panta pants, I would like it to have kind of like a stirrup or something that would help putting on another pair of pants easier. Because again, the same thing happens with the sleeves. It rolls halfway up. Tucking it in the socks before adding another layer of pants help. I think it would be nice if they also have an added foot to the pants for the little kids like her. Just a thought! 

- By the way, they only come in two different colors; black and this pink one. It would also be nice to see a range of warmer colors. 

All in all, we are very happy with the Terramar Girls ThermoLite Fleece Base Layers and she has been wearing it ever since we received the products. I don't hear her crying because she is cold and wants to go back inside the house right away. The items are priced reasonably. Product Review: MicroTouch Switch Blade. Is it Worth The Rave?

I know I realized the After photo is not fully trimmed, but just to show you what the Switch Blade can do. 

There definitely are some hits and misses on this product. Let's go with what we like about the MicroTouch Switch Blade first. 

What Do we like about it? 

-- We like the idea of being an All-In-One Personal Groomer. Who doesn't like a product that you can use in so many ways? And, it is easy to use. All you have to do is slide, switch and hear it snap, and the MicroTouch grooming tool is good to go. It needs two (2) Triple A batteries, by the way. 

-- The MicroTouch Switch Blade is lightweight and portable, perfect for on-the-go. It also has a built-in light, which is perfect for trimming nose and ears. Or whatever it is you are trimming that needs lighting.

-- As I was trimming my man, he told me how gentle it is on the skin. Let me tell you, every time I help him with trimming and all, his other groomer would freak me out because I feel like I would cut his skin at any time. Plus, it is so loud and heavy, but with this one, it is lightweight and less noise. 

-- Yes, it does great for trimming the hair on the back of the neck for a clean cut. It also works great for trimming nose hair, ear hair, eyebrows, etc. Anywhere that needs trimming and can't be done with the traditional groomer, the MicroTouch can do it. 

What we DON'T like about it? 

-- The MicroTouch Switch Blade did trim my man's caveman like chest hair but it took so long to get it done. Plus we can hear the power of the battery slowing down halfway through the trimming. If the tool was a bit bigger, I guess it would have been faster in trimming the chest hair. 

-- The fact that it uses two triple A batteries, my husband wasn't so thrilled about it. He wishes they also have something that can be electrically plugged in and not worry about running out of battery and having to buy more batteries for it. Because if your man is like my man, he has a lot of hair to trim. 

-- The Microtouch Switch Blade didn't work so well when trimming my little boy's hair. I mean, he has thick dark hair and it stopped working after running through my kid's hair a few times because it was plugged. Right now, my husband uses this to trim the back of his neck, his ears, side burns, and not so much with the nose hair. 

I would say, even with a couple of flaws we have with this product, this grooming tool is still handy to have.
