Rummage Sale Haul: 63 Items For $4

I was thrilled when I learned that the church is having another rummage sale this month because they are wanting to get rid of all their summer clothing and restock for more winter items. Therefore, they had A Dollar A Sack sale. And this is kind of dangerous for me because I could blow up my budget thinking everything that goes in a bag is a dollar and that's dirt cheap. But, I am glad I didn't do such a big damage and I came home with four grocery bags full junk. I mean treasures! 

I got up so early and I think I was the very first customer that showed up. If there was some kind of an award that says the most punctual customer, it could have been me. (LOL) But I like being early though, so I don't have to fight with the crowd and I can take my time going through racks and racks of clothing. It is peaceful that way. 

Anyway, let's move on with my rummage sale shopping outfit, which is just very casual with a shirt, polka dot skirt, and my new favorite ever so comfy Esprit shoes. And my brown bag that I also got from the rummage sale. I wore a skirt because it allows me to try on some of the pants while shopping because they don't have a fitting room in there. That is one of my tricks when you go thrift shopping.

I am so glad that this time I found quite a few clothes for my kids and not just for me. I even got a few items for my husband. It is kind of hard to find something for my husband because a lot of the clothes are way too big for him. 

Florals are what's happening right now and I was thrilled when I found this Vintage dress at the rummage sale. I am even more thrilled that I didn't pay a lot of money for it. I actually found a dress online that is similar to my Vintage dress and it is from ASOS except the other dress is a V-Neck, but still of the same style. 

Did I say I like my stripes or my Nautical Inspired shirts? I found these two Vintage shirts (below) at the rummage sale and even though it is a size Medium, I didn't care. Because when it comes to thrift shopping, you have to consider that these clothes are pre-loved and pre-owned (fancy word for USED), which means they have already shrunk. 

I didn't really care for what size the tag says, I just picked up whatever interests me, and I figured if it is too big, I can always alter it myself. That's a wonderful thing when you know how to sew. Even if you know just the basic of sewing.

Window Shopping For Educational Toys For Christmas

Kids love to be busy, to create and build things and this toy is something that would encourage young minds to be more creative and build whatever it is they want to build. They can be their own engineers and build towers and what not. I also like the fact it is made of wood so the toys are durable and can withstand the amount of beating that the kids do while playing and having fun. I also thought of the Build A Road X Track Construction Set because my little man loves cars or anything with wheels and building roads. But then I remembered a friend of mine bought him one on his third birthday and he really did love this toy. It provided him with lots of entertainment watching the two little cars racing its way up and down the tracks. If you have little boys who love wheels and tracks, Build A Road X Track Construction Set would make a great gift. It is easy to assemble and the kids can design however they want their tracks to look like. 

A friend of mine also got her daughter the ShapeScapeS 3D Sculpture Art Building Kits For Kids and she said that at first, her daughter was overwhelmed because she didn't know what to do then. But when she saw some sample pictures of the things she can build with it, she went to town building things and had a blast. I also think it is one unique and exciting toys to have because of the idea that you can create different things with it. Toys like this can make the kids excited about playing and not get bored with it after just a few minutes of playing. I better start saving now so I can afford getting them some educational toys for Christmas. My Review: 

- The color of this handbag on their website is the same color in personal.  One fancy bag that doesn't break the bank! 

- The quality of the bag is actually well made. I actually thought that the material of the bag would be thin considering the price of the bag, but I am really surprised. 

- It has a little pocket on the inside and two side pockets on the outside.

- The stitching is good. I don't see any signs that the bag would fall apart at any time. It has a good lining inside, and the lining on the side pockets are soft and it has a tiny bit of cushioning. 

- It is a good size bag that would carry your stuff and what not. But if you plan on using it as a double diaper bag (if you are a mom like me), it's not that big. Although, I can fit in one diaper and a some wipes. Just in case you want to know. 

- I love the little details on the bag, the map design, and how well the colors go together.

- So far I have no problems with the zipper closure, it is easy to zip open or close.  

- I had a wonderful service at Tmart.com and fast shipping.

Project 13/366: Digital Steamer

Last year on the month of November, my husband surprised me when a huge package came in the mail two weeks after I gave birth to our little girl. I didn't know what was in it until I opened the box and saw this- Digital Steamer. 

I asked him before that I would love to have a steamer as my Christmas gift and nothing else. I don't want anything except things that I can use in the kitchen and not just me who can benefit it. With that said, my husband bought it for me online and I didn't know that he was going to as he didn't say anything to me. I was sure excited to have it. The reason that I wanted the steamer is that I want to make some siopao (steamed buns). I miss the siopao in the Philippines and I wanted to make some homemade. I did, but it didn't turn out quite right, but there is always room for improvement and next time I know what to do. Anyway, here is my digital steamer.

I was making some homemade pizza and bread sticks the other night and I wanted some chicken for one of my toppings so what I did was to steam the chicken so that I don't have to cook it in oil. The steamer worked so well and faster. I love this thing! I always thank my husband for getting me things for the kitchen that I can absolutely use.

(Steaming the chicken is less fat and much healthier.)

I love that whenever I am cooking some meat I can use the drippings to make some gravy, then I can cook some rice as well on the top rack if I wanted to. 

This is one thing off of my wish list and hopefully next Christmas, Santa will grant me my other wish. This baby- KitchenAid Artisan 5-Quart Stand Mixer in PEAR. Ahhhhhhhh!!!

Rummage Sale Shopping

Yaye! I am going to the rummage sale today. First rummage sale of the year and I cannot wait to see what treasures I can find. I mean, for me going to the rummage sale is like treasure hunting while you rummage through things and find amazing items. It's exciting! I hope they have a lot of amazing things to choose from today.

If lucky, I might be able to take you in with me to my favorite place in town by taking a video and share you some photos of my rummage sale shopping. In that way, I'll be able to show you a little bit about it since I have been talking a lot about me going to the rummage sales and what great deals I got and yet I don't have any proof to show you. So, today I will make some effort to take some photos and take you with me to my favorite place in town and show you how I shop. And oh! The second day of rummage sale shopping is actually exciting because it's "A Dollar A Bag" day,so whatever fits in your grocery bag only costs you a dollar. I know! So come on over and let's shop!

Also, I got some more fabrics in the mail and this is just the beginning of my sewing madness. Man! I have got some serious sewing to do. I hope to be able to create some great things and hopefully be able to open up my own etsy shop someday. Crossing my fingers on that one!

The top two fabrics are thrift-ed from the thrift store here in town and I paid about $3 for those two. Awesome! I am thinking of maybe making a scarf out of the brown one, then the other one probably I'll make it into a maternity top or something. We'll see! The rest of the fabrics are from fabricworm and they are so pretty I almost don't want to cut them, but just stare at them.
