My New Gathered Clutch

I just finished my project of the day and I would like to share you my first ever gathered clutch! Thank you to Noodlehead for the inspiration and for sharing you're tutorial on how to make this gorgeous clutch. When I first saw it, I wanted to try to make one, but then I was a little bit worried because of the zipper. I mean, I am really not good when it comes to dealing with zippers, but her tutorial was so easy that I didn't have a hard time at all. It was easy and I am happy with the finished product. Though I made a little mistake with my clutch as you can see mine is a little bit different from her, but I managed to pull it off.

But please, don't make the same mistake I did because I forgot to open the zipper first before I went ahead and stitched the sides. When it was time for me to flip it, there was no way to do it, but to rip it again and open the zipper. Now that is one dummy mistake that I don't want to happen again. LOL!

I am loving it! If you want to try to make one for yourself or for a gift, head on over to Noodlehead for a tutorial.

  1. Hi Adin! I saw that tutorial on CraftGossip and want to make one too - when I get time! LOL!!! Yours came out really cute...I love the fabrics you chose. And believe me we've all forgot at one time or other to leave our zips open when making pouches, so you're in good company! Just chalk it us as "lesson learned".

    Have a great day!

    XOXO,

  2. Hi Cyndi! Thanks for visiting. I finally got around making this clutch and I really think it is cute. I love it that I am going to make another one and this time it will be much bigger than this. She gave an easy tutorial and I managed to do it. :) When you are sewing, it sure takes your patience sometimes and what I did this morning was a lesson learned, indeed! LOL! I will try not to make the same mistake again. Thanks for visiting! :)

  5. very cool! Glad it worked out for you. I did the same thing with my zipper on all three that I made for the tutorial! I didn't have to do any seam ripping, I was able to pull it open by wiggling it open through the fabric. I just can't stand ripping seams sometimes, but either way is a fix, right!

  8. Glad to hear from all of you guys! Let me know if you made one Anne. I too get nervous about dealing with zippers, I sure wish now that I should have paid more attention to my mom while she was trying to teach me how to sew. But with Anna's (Noodlehead) tutorial, it was so easy that there was no problem in sewing it. So easy and I am sure you can do it as well.

Pretty lady C! Try and make one and let me know. :) I am sure you will like it. LOL!

    Thanks again for visiting!

So fun that I actually made a big one, but never got around to sharing it yet since I am not totally finished. :)
