Friday's Thrifted Treasures

I bought seven (7) items today at a flea market here in our little town. Everything was on 40% sale so I paid $20.64 for all of these. Not bad! Here are the items I have purchased.

Vintage Night Lamp Owl

The last time I went to the flea market in town, I saw a night lamp owl and I loved it. But for some reason I didn't buy it. I don't know what I was thinking, but I kicked myself on the butt with that one because I wanted it. I was thinking about that cute little lamp the whole time and wishing I bought it that day. On my way to the post office this afternoon, I saw the store was finally open after being close for a while so I went in to check on their items. I ended up shopping for things that I can use for the baby girl's room. Immediately, I thought of the owl lamp and I checked the shelves where I last saw it and there was this baby, standing there staring at me saying "Please pick me! Pick me!" Well, in my mind that's what the owl was saying. I asked the lady if the owl lamp was still working and it still works, but I was going to buy it anyway even if it didn't. It works great. Score!

Look at how cute it looks like when it's lighted up. Well, at first I thought it looked kind of scary and probably is for a little child, but I still think it's cute anyway. I think my little boy would be scared if I light this thing up tonight in his room.

HOOT! HOOT!

Vintage 50's Clutch

The interior pocket has a little hole in it, but no one's going to see that. Besides I can stitch it up and it will be fine. Love this one! Look at those two little knobs or circles on the sides. Unique detail.

Little Wire Baskets

I know exactly where to put these two. They are going to be in my little girl's room even though these are in robin's egg blue color, but I think I am going to stick to the color and won't spray paint it white or yellow. I like it the way it is! I was hoping to find some big wire baskets that I can use for storage in the nursery, but these are the two I found and I am still happy.

Soft Tan hat

I love how it fits on me and I can't wait to wear it. Right now it is outside hanging on the clothes line just so it can get some sun and air to kind of clean it up a little bit. That's what I like to do to all the hats I purchased at a secondhand store.

Another polka dotted maroon vintage hat.

I just couldn't quite figure out how to wear this hat that would look good on me. I am sure I will figure it out some time. I like it though!

One last item I got today is an old little lampshade which I don't have a picture of because I want to show it to you what I am going to do with it. I just got the shade without the vase to it. I want to use it for my Capiz Shell Inspired Chandelier, so stay tuned for the finished product of that lamp. There you go guys! These are what I thrift-ed today and hope you like them. How about you? Have you thrift-ed lately?

Have a great weekend, everyone!

    Hi Vikki,

Welcome back! I sure love the cute owl and was happy when I saw it at the store. I can't get enough of it. The lady at the store said that her mom used to collect tons and tons of owls as well, but now she likes angels. I can't wait to get the nursery done either, but that won't be until later. It will be a vintage inspired room. :) Thanks for stopping by! have a great weekend!
