Cloth Diapering Little Traveler

My family and I went on a 2-day trip across Kansas the other day and of course our two kids were with us. I would say that our little man is a seasoned traveler as he has been around a lot before he even turned one year old. On the other hand, it was our little girl's (5 months old) first official road trip with the family. Usually, when you go on a long road trip with little ones it can be a nightmare or a stressful one, but this trip was different. We all had a great time, we were not in a hurry and we made stops to make sure we all can get out of the vehicle, take a breather and stretch out. It was important for us that our little man can go out and play at the park and go down the big slide because for him it is all about the big slide. And our little 5-month old baby girl was a trooper! She did not cry or fuss at all, she was calm and she was sleeping peacefully. It was so cute every time she'd wake up and she sees her kuya (big brother) beside her, she would giggle, laugh and scream because she was wanting to talk and play with him. Precious! All in all, it was a successful, safe and stress-free trip for the whole family.

But before the trip, while I was packing and preparing I had a little bit of a decision to make whether or not to cloth diaper her or use disposable diaper while on the road. I thought about it over and over again and in the end I went with the cloth diapers. Since it was only a two-day trip and I don't have to wash the diapers even up to the third day, I  went with  it. Although I am not going to lie, but I did buy for the first time some disposable diapers as my backup in case of emergency. You know, just in case, but I ended up using cloth diapers the entire trip. I had no leak problems and no fussy baby.

To show that she was wearing her BumGenius diaper before buckling her up safely and hitting the road. Thank you so much BumGenius for being so genius in making diapers that work really well.

Note: Not paid to mention their product, but I thought this will help you figure out which diapers out there that work really well in case you take interest in cloth diapering. This is one of them.

On our way back home, we made a visit to the Salt Plains in Oklahoma. More photos and details about the trip on the next post. It was amazing!

Cloth diapering a baby while on a road trip is just like when you use disposable diaper. You change it when it is time to change except you don't need to throw it away, but keep it in the wet bag, spray a little bit of odor remover and your done. Just throw it in the washing machine when you get home and dry. I don't know what I was thinking when I thought I might have some problems with it or something, but really it is like changing disposable diapers except they are washable, cute and fun, and safe on the bum.

Good morning, little one! She is up and ready to hit the road again.

My little girl on the swing.

All in all, it was one successful cloth-diapering-first-official-road-trip for this baby.
Cloth diaper rocks!

Note: By me sharing things about cloth diapering is my way of hopefully inspiring you to maybe try cloth diapers and I don't want you to feel like you are a bad mama because you are not cloth diapering your baby. That is not my intention. In the end, it is your decision to make whether or not to cloth diaper your baby and your decision to make what is best.

    1. Hello girl! I have heard of cloth diapers in Pinas, but I guess there is no huge demand for it so maybe you have to do some research on where you can find one. I'll have to ask a friend of mine a link sa iyaha nga site kay mura ug namaligya to sila sa pinas pod. Mahal lagi pod inig palit nimo, but since labhan man dili ka magsige ug palit di makasave pod ka bali investment man ni nimo sya. check this site daw if you like. You never know someday you will be blessed with one beautiful baby. :)
