Product Review: Safe Sippy Cups For Kids From Kid Basix

Photobucket

I know other moms out there can relate with me when I say I have been on a search for that right sippy cup that my little girl would absolutely love to use, and would drink her milk out of. I bought sippy cups after sippy cups and most of them didn't work for my particular little girl and other brands leak a lot. It is such a hassle to tote around a leaky bottle or cup and it is not worth the money. Desperate mama I am, I looked online and found another product that I thought might work for my little girl. I was about to order one just to test it out, but I found out I could actually ask them to give me the opportunity to sample their products for free and they approved me. Kid Basix sent me two types of their Safe Sippy Cups, one is an 110z. Safe Sippy In Pink and one 110z. Safe Sippy2 in Blue.

At first glance on the Safe Sippy Cups, you get easily attracted to the it because of its design and the color. And when you find out its great features and it is stainless steel, you will definitely be curious enough to try their products. I love the fact that it is safe for babies to use, nothing to worry about it being plastic, nothing to worry about breaking the bottle because it is not made out of glass. I bought glass bottles before and even with the sleeves, sometimes it is dangerous because when the baby drops the bottle, the glass can shatter. I know that because all three of our glass bottles are gone. Not only that the Kid Basix sippy cups are looking so stylish, it actually works great. So far our sippy cups do not leak, my little girl drinks her milk out of the cups, and it just works for us. It is not heavy to carry with you in your purse or diaper bag. Actually, this is not the first time I used Kid Basix products. When my little girl was about months old, I bought Kid Basix's Safe Starter baby bottle also in stainless steel. I really loved it and it was an easy clean up bottle, and that made me decide to try their other products as well.

Originally, I asked if I could get two sippy cups. One for my little girl and one for my little man. When the package arrived, I realized that the Safe Sippy2 in Blue is actually not for my little man who is four years old. What was I thinking? Disappointed I was, I quickly snapped out of it because my little girl can use both of the sippy cups. Why not? It is convenient to use while out and about or traveling. I am confident that these sippy cups are not going to leak in my bag while we are out, and that I know my little girl will use it. I think I am getting my little man the other product like the Safe Sporter since I alway bring our water bottles with us when traveling. I want to get rid of his other plastic water bottle he is currently using. Anway, I love how Kid Basix designed the spout of the cups and somehow that design works for my little girl. Here are some features about the two sippy cups I got from Kid Basix.

The Safe Sippy2™ bottle is the world’s first 2-in-1 sippy-to-straw drink cup for kids. The next generation Safe Sippy™ has these great new added features:

◦No-spill sippy valve and a straw and adapter that instantly converts the cup from sippy to straw bottle. It is the only 2-in-1 cup on the market
◦Travel cap for keeping the spout clean
◦Travel plug to ensure no leaks when the cup is being carried in a purse or diaper bag

In addition, The Safe Sippy2™ sports all of the well-known features of the original Safe Sippy™ cup:

◦11 ounce volume
◦304 food-grade stainless steel vessel
◦BPA and phthalate free
◦Colorful protective TPR sleeve that provides insulation against cold liquids and acts as a cushion to protect the cup (and furniture) from denting and banging
◦Straw shaped spout, because research has shown that the straw design is better for physical and speech development of kids
◦Removable handles
◦Dishwasher safe

Here is my little girl using her new sippy cup and this time with the handles removed. She loves it! She also loves the Safe Sippy2 because it has a straw so she doesn't have to tilt the cup up when drinking her milk.

My advice though is that after using the bottle with the straw, it is best to rinse or wash it right away since the milk can dry up inside the straw and it is hard to clean it up. I wish I had a long tiny brush that could fit inside the straw to thoroughly clean it up. Make sure to rinse it right away.
