Thanks to the internet these days, there are tons of ideas that you can get online to help you save some money like making your own homemade clothing detergent. I have been making my own cloth detergent since last year and we have never bought any detergent since then other than my homemade ones. It's quick and easy to make. I found this recipe from the blog "The Eco-Friendly Family" and after my discovery I immediately went ahead and gave it a try. I am hooked! I know it says safe for cloth diapers, but I use it on all of our clothes. If it is good for the cloth diapers, why not? I do make two different kinds of detergent though, one that is safe for the cloth diapers, and one that is for the regular laundry detergent. I ran out of the regular laundry detergent so it is not shown in the pictures, but this detergent has grated bar soap (Fels Naptha) mixed in it. Fels Naptha gives is that really nice scent to your laundry detergent.
Because I don't have a huge container to make huge batches of detergent, I use this jar for now. I even put the label on the front so I know what is in it and how much I need for every load.
