It's Friday yet again and hope everyone is having a great time!!! I can't wait to spend some time with the family this weekend and maybe even pitch our tent in the backyard and pretend like we are up in the mountains on a vacation and camping. That is if it doesn't rain on us. We will see! Anyway, here are some photos of me and one of my favorite vintage dresses that I have accumulated over the years.
Montgomery Ward Pink Dress: Vintage and Thrifted for another $1
Belt: thrifted 50cents
Shoes: Payless. Old like six years ago?
You might think that I am lying to you about the price of this vintage dress, but I am not. I just wish I had a photo to prove to you that this dress actually was $1 when I bought it at the rummage sale. I have accumulated few vintage pieces in my rummage sale shopping adventure and I am excited to share with you some of them in the future. This is one of those dollar vintage dresses that I bought. I had this when I was pregnant with my second one thinking that if it doesn't fit me after pregnancy that I will sell it online, but I ended up keeping it and loving it. I don't know, maybe someday I'll sell it? Right now, I am loving this. The elastic on the waist was already old, I had to fix it and sewn in a new one. You can't see it because of the belt, but it is way better now. The collar and the pleated bottom is just darling. And not to mention the dress is pink.
I am not so sure about the history of this dress as I am no expert, but I think it's around late 60's or maybe older than that. I am not so sure, so if you know something please let me know. Anyway, here is a little history about Montgomery Ward that I found from a website called Vintage Fashion Guild.
My little bee's wearing thrifted top, Lovely Pocket Diaper in Zebra, and DIYed Argyle baby legs. I made her that baby legs out of knee-high socks.
My little girl was crying because she wanted to be in the picture with mama. She just woke up and was missing me. Look at that cloth diaper of hers. So cute!
She is now seven months old and 17 pounds. Surely is growing up fast! We love you little bee.
I feel very vintage-y like mama.
A close up of the awesome collar.
That pointed, button-detailed collar, I love it!
It's funny because as I was sitting here typing, I happened to look to my left and I noticed my husband's old record player 8 track and it says "Montgomery Ward." My husband said that, that is where they used to shop clothes and things just like SEARS now a days before they ran out of business. How about that! Have a great almost weekend, everyone! Be safe!
Thank you so much for your lovely comment.
