Food Share: Eat Your Breakfast

Yes, I am one of those that my breakfast has to have rice, soup and any kind of meat or just fish, then I am fine with that. I go heavy with my first meal. I just can't go about my day with just a bread, pancakes, muffins and some drink. I have to have rice to fill me up and I can go on until lunchtime without having to snack in between meals. If I do, just a little bit of food like apples with peanut butter or any kind of fruit will do.

Lately, I have been into eating avocado. I mean, I have always loved avocado since I was little. My mom told me that when she was pregnant with me, she was full on eating avocado because that is what she was craving for. I love eating avocado and I go with one a day. I don't worry about how many calories or fat is in it because it is a good kind of fat so I am fine with that. Just a little bit of honey drizzled over it is so good. Or sometimes, I do it the Filipino way where I mix some bananas and avocados together with a little bit of condensed milk and some crushed ice and it is a good snack. Might not be super healthy with the condensed milk in it, but once in a while it's not bad. Me and my little girl loves avocado, but not the boys.

I am also into mixing red rice and Quinoa together along with my Jasmine Rice. Have you had rice and Quinoa mixed together before? It is really good (at least for me). The red rice gives that lovely aroma when cooked and kind of has a nutty taste that I love so much. Quinoa is also good for people with diabetes and I use it as a filling just so you don't have to consume so much rice in a meal because just a little bit of Quinoa added to rice, it can overwhelm the entire dish. Like I said I have a picky-eater boy and he doesn't even mind it has quinoa with his rice. He does love purple or red rice though so I am happy with that.

Jasmine Rice with Red Rice and Quinoa cooked together. A bowl of purple and white cabbage soup, Salmon, and an Avocado drizzled with Raw Honey on top. I love having soup with my meal and blame that to growing up in a Filipino household where we couldn't afford to buy any meat so we end up making veggie soup or any kind of vegetable dishes. How about you? What type of meal do you usually have in the morning?

    1. Mommy Rose, yes you can buy red rice and black rice online on Amazon.com. I love it than just plain white rice. I do eat brown rice, but not really a huge fan, which I should since it is healthier than white. But the rice is something that I just can't give up. LOL! The Filipina in me.

    1. I sure can't go one with just a bowl of cereal. My tummy will always look for my carb and if I don't fill up in the morning, I end up eating here and there, then I would regret it later. I always go with this so I can go on with my day not hungry and grumpy. LOL! Thanks!
