From Men's White V-Neck Shirt

The sun is heating up and our weather in Kansas has been warm and humid lately. Warm and humid in the morning, but cool in the evening. Ah! I can smell the summer. Anyway, I have been pretty busy lately with some things around the house and taking short road trips that is why I haven't got to post anything yet. But I have some things to share you and hopefully you will like it.

First thing is a Hane's Men's V-neck shirt that I bought at Walmart a long time ago, actually it comes in a pack with five shirts in it. I bought a pack of those in small size and I love the fact that it is white and so comfy to wear. It is also versatile that you can wear it under a blazer and a pair of dark jeans for a comfy casual look. Anyway, I grew tired of just a plain old shirt one time and since I have five of them, I decided to refashion one of the shirts and this is what I came up with.

Since ruffles and rosettes are so hot these days, and you can even find tons of tutorials all over the internet, I incorporated that into my shirt refashion. Even though the shirt was in size small, but it's a man's shirt so I have to alter it to fit me, just like what I did with this shirt here on my other refashion. I took in the sides and started sewing a new hem and also attached the sleeves back, then I saved the cutouts and made it into rosettes and ruffles and attached it on to the side of the shirt. Now, the shirt that was plain white, turned into a fun and interesting shirt. So easy to make!

I only have little cutouts left from the shirt, so you will see a gap between my ruffles, but that didn't bother me at all. I just left it that way.

If you want to learn how to make fabric rosettes, here are some tutorials that you can check out.

- Made By the Mama Monster blog and Susie Harries blog or type in Fabric Rosette tutorials and it will lead you to tons of blogs and websites that teaches you how to do it.

It's Sewtastic, Mama!

(T-shirt refashioned by me & pants from a rummage sale)

I wore this shirt last Saturday in Parsons, Kansas on Katy Days and boy oh boy! I was glad I did because it was so hot that day that you definitely need to wear something light and comfy. It was so hot that I didn't even care about taking pictures that much. My mind was just thinking of cool shade and really cold drinks like that freshly squeezed Cherry Limeade that they have in one of their booths. Ahhhh! Thirst quencher. LOL! And oh!

Thank God for freshly squeezed Cherry Limeade! Ahhhhh! It was so good!
