Product Review: Detangler Hair Brush From Olivia Garden

Are you tired of dealing with your messy always tangled hair that appears like it could be a perfect nest for a bird? Yes, I know, I've been there. It's like a constant battle between you and your hair, and as for me, sometimes my hair wins and I end up putting it in a bun. 

A few weeks ago I was online looking for a Detangler brush in a hope that it will help me with my problem. Then I came across Olivia Garden. For those who haven't heard of Olivia Garden before, it is a company that  designs and promotes innovative, high quality beauty products to help women look good and feel good. They have beauty tools like Shears, Curlers, Apparel, Brushes, etc. Because I was interested in their product, I asked if they would like to work with me on a product review, and they sent me a complimentary hair brush from one of their DIVINE Brush collection. What Do I Think About The Product?

- I like the looks of the Divine Brush. That lovely golden color is so fancy. 

- I like the shape of the brush, which makes it easy to handle when brushing my tangled hair. You know how with some brushes, they keep coming off when you use it, but with the Divine brush, it doesn't. 

- Does it really work as a Detangler brush? Yes, it does work for me. And something I have noticed is that when I brush my hair, the appearance of my hair looks smooth and shiny. More tamed. 

- The tip of the bristles on this brush are not the same as the other two Divine brushes with the rounded tip. I guess it is designed that way to make it really work when you detangle your hair. 

- When you look closely at the pattern of the bristles of the brush, some of them are short and some of them are long, which I am guessing is what makes it work well. 

- My hair gets tangled up pretty easy, so I am glad I received this Divine brush from Olivia Garden. It is now my new favorite brush. It does put less stress on my wrist when brushing my hair.

- The size of the brush works well for me, not overly bulky and not too tiny, and I can carry it with me while traveling. I would say I have quite a hair and I need a brush that can handle it. All in all, I am pretty satisfied with the product.

Product Review: Beauty Bursts and Keratin Hair Volumizer From NeoCell

When you look at the magazines or the internet, you will see articles about tips and tricks, lotions and potions, recipes, drinks, vitamins, and what not to aid you fight aging or retain that look of youthfulness. People are always looking for new ways to make you look good and feel good and that's part of being a human. And as we get older, our skin starts to show signs of aging, and our collagen starts to slouch on us. But what is Collagen? Well, you can do a self-research on that area online to learn more about it. But what it is basically, is that Collagen helps smooths out our skin, it will look firmer, supple, younger, and we feel better about ourselves. A few months ago I received some complimentary products from NeoCell that I was really excited about. I was introduced to the NeoCell Beauty Bursts and the NeoCell Keratin Hair Volumizer. When I learned about the Keratin Hair Volumizer, I thought it would be something that I could really benefit because at that time I was experiencing hair shedding. What Do I Think About The Product?

Prior to NeoCell, I have noticed my hair was thinning and shedding, and I have that balding spot on my forehead. Or I should say a receding hairline. You would think the guys are the only ones that experience that, but oh no, us women too! A few weeks after I had my babies, I experienced hair thinning, but my hair grew back a few months after. Then these past few months before knowing about NeoCell, my hair was just bad. I couldn't even put my hair up on a bun because the balding spot on my forehead was noticeable and it was bothersome. I was online looking for something that would help me with my hair loss, and what a coincidence. An email showed up and asked if I would be willing to try their products. I jumped into the opportunity right away without any doubts and glad I did.

What Do I Think Of The Product?

- I may not have that dramatic of a result like others have, since I am not to that point where I have lots of wrinkles, sagging chin, crow's feet and all that. But for the weeks that I have been taking the NeoCell Beauty Bursts, I have noticed some changes in my skin. My face looks more moisturized and hydrated. I mean, it looks a lot healthier, even without applying moisturizer on my skin. 

- The Flavor: I was actually surprised at how tasty these are. It tastes like I am just eating candies, but also I can tell that there is something in it that I suppose what collagen would taste like if you eat it just by itself. But It is tasty, and chewy, and it dissolves quickly. I have to hide though every time I pop one open because my little girl thinks they are candies for her because they do smell good and that pink color attracts her. I love how it says they are made of All-Natural ingredients and that's a great thing about. 

- All in all, I am satisfied with the product and yes, I will purchase these again the next time we travel to Casper, Wyoming. Because that is the closest place where we can buy them at the store, according to their store locator. I know my husband's interested in their Collagen product so he might just want to buy some for himself. 

- Another reason why I like taking these rather than just some cream, is the fact that it is easy to take. It never washes off or gets messy when applying because you take it in. You open the wrapper, pop it in your mouth, you chew it, and it is in your system, which really works on the inside.

• It says they are Vegetarian and animals are their friends, so that's why they don't add any bits of animal pieces into their products. 

3. SoyJoy is a tasty healthier snack and perfect for on-the-go. Or, anytime you need a little snack.  I am going to get me more of these next time we're at the store. What a yummy treat! My little girl does like it. It has the right sweetness, light and with real fruit chunks. Yummy! 

4. Sally Hansen glittery nail polish that I have not used so like I said I will update the post to let you know what I think of the product. But for my thought, it is a perfect nail polish to wear for when you are attending parties this Christmas season. 

5. The last one is the Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo comes in a travel-size container that you can carry with you everywhere you go so you can freshen up your hair anytime anywhere and be ready to party the night away. It is in a small container though so I am guessing this will not last long. I will come back to update this post and share more thoughts about the product.  

• Update: The Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo. It works really well. I have noticed my hair wasn't oily anymore and it does volumizes the hair. It instantly freshens up your hair and smells lovely.

- I use two shades when I shape my brows. First is the darker brown for the inside corner of my brows, then I work my way up to the outside corner of my brows with the black shade. I like to sport a fuller looking brow because as they say, fuller brows can help you look younger. You know why? Because just like babies, they don't pluck their brows. You know what I mean? 

- The lighter shade to the top left I use to highlight my brow bone and it also helps me after I shape my brows to clean up some messes and you get that nicely shaped brows.)

Product Review: Get Your Curls On With Flat Iron Experts

For us women, our hair is sort of a cheapest accessory in a sense that we always love to have it in different looks or styles from straight, wavy, curl, etc. Luckily these days, all types of hair tools are available everywhere. You can find hair tools for straightening, for perming or curling your hair to help complete your look. Although hair tools are available everywhere, not all of them are safe to use. Originally I wanted a blow dryer, but they didn't have any available so I went with the hair curling wand. Once in a while I like to curl my hair for a different look, and in fact in 2008 I had my hair permed. At that time I wanted something for a change because I haven't had my hair curled permanently before so I went with it. Although I loved the permed hair, but I don't want to do it again. I like being able to change my hair style once in a while so this curling wand will help me without using any strong chemicals to curl my hair. Plus, it is not permanent. 

Before using any kind of heat to your hair, make sure to apply some hair protection like the KQC Thermal Shine Spray. Like I mentioned above about the product, it is light, non-greasy and leaves hair soft, shiny and smelling good. You should try this product. I hope it works for you too! 

I think I used the size 1 1/2 inch barrel for this look. I first sectioned my hair and start curling from the bottom all the way up.

Because I don't want my curls to be too tight of a curl so combing through your hair with your fingers help you achieve that loose curl effect. 

I have noticed that when using the 4 N One Curling Iron, my hair doesn't feel stiff dry and it leaves it shiny.

Product Review: Enhance Your Beauty With Mineral Hygienics

About two months ago, the people of the Mineral Hygienics were so wonderful when they sent me a few beauty items, particularly some Mineral Make-Up Foundation and a Full Coverage Kabuki Brush.

I have mentioned before that I am not a fan of using foundation because I don't like the feeling of foundation on my skin and the way it looks. I would rather just go with the eye concealer, shape my brows, eyeliner, lip moisturizer or a little bit of lipstick and I am good to go. But when I had the chance to try the Mineral Hygienics product, I was very impressed. I love that it is in a loose powder form and to me it is easy to apply on my skin and I am surprised at how it doesn't leave my face dry and flaky. The Mineral Hygienics foundation is light and smooth on my skin and it stays on the whole day without having to retouch my makeup. 

Whenever I use the Mineral Hygienics foundation, I would apply a little bit of the product on my face, then I would slowly add some more if I needed to. Usually I would end up using a little bit of the powder because just like it says, a little goes a long ways. I don't like to put on a heavy foundation and I like to keep it natural looking as much as possible. So far, Mineral Hygienics is the only foundation I have in my beauty kit right now. The reason why I picked out two different tones- the Light Tan and the Medium Tan because my Filipina skin tends to be lighter during the colder months, and tanned during the warmer months. I am a happy and satisfied customer with the foundation I got, but I have a little bit of a problem with the Kabuki brush. The Kabuki brush tends to fray whenever I use it and little bits of hair get all over my face, but other than that I love the Mineral Hygienics product. And yes, I would recommend it to people who are looking for some natural cosmetics that are absolutely wonderful. It is worth the hype! 

- I don't have any skin irritation or breakouts when using the product. 

- A little foundation goes a long way.

Life Lately.... According To My Camera

I have seen a few blogs posting photos about their life lately according to their iPhones or Instagram so I thought I should make a post of our life lately according to my cheap Canon camera. This is what's happening lately in the Blankenship's in Chetopa. Yes, we are back in our old place just for the Christmas break. It is good to be here. Today on Christmas day was a perfect day to be inside the house the whole day because of the nasty weather outside. All we did today was playing inside the house, eating, on the internet, watch old movies, had some hot cappuccino and in comfy clothes all day. The wind is blowing which makes for a freezing cold day. We were supposed to be expecting a little snow flurry, but it is already dark outside and we see no snow. Oh well! No white Christmas for us this year. We had a wonderful low key, relaxed Christmas eve meal with the family though and all of us really enjoyed our evening. Our celebration ended up with the kids opening their presents, which our little man was sure looking forward to it. He did a great job waiting for the night time to come before he could open his presents. He definitely passed the patience test on that one. Great job little man! Merry Christmas/Holiday, everyone!!! We hope your season is a wonderful one and may you have one prosperous New Year of 2013! I am still amazed that soon it will be another new year and a new chapter of our lives. Yes you see it right. Our dog Spink girl sleeping with our two chickens in her dog house. The chickens are behind her while she sleeps in front of them guarding the house. It is all so cozy and warm inside the house.
