Our Review: 

- We are crazy about these chocolate covered cocoa beans. The combination of chocolate and the bitterness of the cocoa bean (the good kind of bitterness) goes so well. The cocoa bean inside is easy to munch and I really do enjoy the texture of the cocoa beans. The chocolate that covers the bean has the right sweetness and what a treat! They are perfect treats for traveling because they come in a resealable bag. I just wish we had more of these though, because they are all gone. They are that good taste wise and not to mention they are filled with antioxidants, which are good for your body.

Making Crio Brü is easy, whether in a coffee maker or French Press. And Cavalla is incredibly delicious, especially when you add a little creamer and cinnamon.

If you have noticed the dots of oil floating on top of the drink, don't worry. Cocoa beans contain natural essential oils and it says those are healthy kind of fats just like the ones you would find in Avocado, Olive Oil and Nuts. 

Now, let's say you have no French Press or a Gold Tone Coffee Filter at home and you wonder how to brew your own cocoa beans without it? Well, I want to share with you my way of doing it, which is the Filipino way of brewing cocoa beans. I basically grew up drinking "sikwati (brewed cocoa beans)" and I know how to make it without any of those fancy things. I do however use my coffee grinder to grind up my already ground up beans into a really fine texture. But you don't need to do that if you don't have a coffee grinder either. It still works! 

     - First, measure your water. According to the package, in every 6 ounces of water is equal to 2 tablespoons of ground cocoa beans. The way I do it is I would measure 16 ounces of water per 4 tablespoons of cocoa beans and that would make me about 2 cups of brewed cocoa beans. 

     - Once you measure your water and your cocoa beans, sit it on top of the stove and let it boil, simply make sure to stir it frequently. Don't leave it sitting on top of the stove on its own. As you can see on the photo below that your drink would look like the first one to the left, still thick and you can see a lot of the ground up beans. Don't freak out, it is alright. Just keep stirring to really combine everything and some of the ground up beans will melt and some won't, which explains while it is gritty. 

     - Once it starts to boil, turn the heat to low and continue stirring until your drink is a lot smoother, then turn the oven off. Now this drink is gritty, but you can use a fine strainer to strain some of the grits out. It will still be gritty, but not as bad. I am not really bothered by it because I am used to drinking this since I was a little girl. It does not affect the taste of the brewed cocoa beans at all. 

     - At this point, you can either add sweetener or creamer to your drink, but I prefer just adding Agave Syrup and nothing else. If I feel like adding anything else, it would be Almond milk as my creamer. You can add whatever sweetener you like according to your taste. Enjoy! 

I like to have this in the morning with some homemade bread or rice for breakfast. And speaking of rice, you can also make "Champorado (Chocolate Rice Porridge)" with this. If you want to know how I make my own Champorado using the Crio Brü, let me know in the comment below.  

And for a Filipino meal, I paired it with rice, dried fish (stinky, but yummy), and some leftover salmon, with eggs and spinach. 

Our Review: 

- The Crio Brü drink smells really good. It reminds me of waking up every morning in the Philippines before I go to school and my mom's brewing some "sikwate or tsokolate", so we can have something hot or warm to drink. Paired with some rice, sunny-side up eggs, dried fish and my breakfast was complete. Drinking a cup of this every morning makes me feel like I am back home. 

- It's amazing how all these beans are the same, but yet different. The same because they are all cocoa beans, but different because they have their own hint of flavor, and even aroma. But they are all delicious! I just wish I had a way for you to try it yourself so you know exactly what I am talking about. I guess you are just going to have to buy some for yourself to really know what I am talking about. 

- I have mentioned it before that I am not much of a coffee person and as much as I love drinking hot chocolate, I don't want to drink it frequently. But there are some mornings that I really want something hot or warm to drink, but not coffee or hot chocolate. And Crio Bru's Brewed Cocoa is my answer. I could have ordered some of those "tableya" (the Philippine version of hot chocolate made purely of ground cocoa beans just like Crio Brü), but it is costly if I order it online and I am far away from any asian stores. To be honest, I want to buy more of these when I finally run out. And I want more of the Cavalla this time because of all three products, Cavalla is my favorite. It is smooth and just delicious! If you prefer something with a kick, try Maya. And try Maracaibo if you want that hint of caramel and cherry in your drink. 

- It does not give me the jitters that I would normally get from drinking coffee. And this is just for me, but it is filling. I am glad I received these products because these will be my only drink every morning. I can also make some ice cold drinks with this for the summer, too. Thank you, Crio Brü!

What's In The Mail?

NuNaturals NuGrains is a new favorite of mine. I love how I can sneak it into my baked goods without my picky-eater knowing that I added more fiber to his diet. I mean, it is an Oat Fiber that is naturally produced from food-grade oat hulls through a chemical-free process. It is in a powder form like a brown fine flour, so it really is easy to mix with any cake mix, muffin mix, or pancake mix you are baking, scrambled eggs, frittata, or even in your smoothies. A homemade tea for my husband and I when we were not feeling so well. What Do I Think About The Product?

Prior to NeoCell, I have noticed my hair was thinning and shedding, and I have that balding spot on my forehead. Or I should say a receding hairline. You would think the guys are the only ones that experience that, but oh no, us women too! A few weeks after I had my babies, I experienced hair thinning, but my hair grew back a few months after. What Do I Think Of The Product?

- I may not have that dramatic of a result like others have, since I am not to that point where I have lots of wrinkles, sagging chin, crow's feet and all that. But for the weeks that I have been taking the NeoCell Beauty Bursts, I have noticed some changes in my skin. My face looks more moisturized and hydrated. I mean, it looks a lot healthier, even without applying moisturizer on my skin. 

- The Flavor: I was actually surprised at how tasty these are. It tastes like I am just eating candies, but also I can tell that there is something in it that I suppose what collagen would taste like if you eat it just by itself. But It is tasty, and chewy, and it dissolves quickly. I have to hide though every time I pop one open because my little girl thinks they are candies for her because they do smell good and that pink color attracts her. I love how it says they are made of All-Natural ingredients and that's a great thing about. 

- All in all, I am satisfied with the product and yes, I will purchase these again the next time we travel to Casper, Wyoming. Because that is the closest place where we can buy them at the store, according to their store locator. I know my husband's interested in their Collagen product so he might just want to buy some for himself. 

- Another reason why I like taking these rather than just some cream, is the fact that it is easy to take. It never washes off or gets messy when applying because you take it in. You open the wrapper, pop it in your mouth, you chew it, and it is in your system, which really works on the inside.

OUR STORY

It all started with a simple vision to create a better snack.  We wondered, wouldn't it be great to go back to a time when the food we ate was actually nutritious and good for you. You know, before decades of environmental harm and mega food conglomerate processing wiped out most of the nutrients which used to be abundant in the food your grandparents ate.  To make products you could feel good about eating again and sharing with others.  Well, with that in mind, we decided to do just that.  And we were led to the miracle of germination (you might know it as sprouting).  Now we know that nutritionists and naturalists have been touting the incredible nutritional benefits of sprouting for years.  And we knew how sprouting unlocked all the “good” that is inherent in all grains, seed and beans and brings them back to life (nutritionally speaking).  So we thought, why then couldn't we combine the powerful benefits of sprouting to a great tasting snack?  You know sort of like those old TV commercials with that guy and girl tripping into each other with their chocolate and peanut butter.  Anyway, you get the picture.

My family had the chance to sample these new great tasting snacks that we have never tried before. The lovely people of the Way Better Snacks company sent us six complimentary snacks in six different flavors for us to try. I got to be honest, these didn't last long in this house, which is safe to say my family enjoyed these Tortilla Chips. My favorite would be the Simply Sweet Potato Tortilla Chips and the Simply So Sweet Chili Tortilla Chips. All of these chips are crunchy and with the right salty flavor. It is not greasy or too salty like any other chips out in the market. And it says it doesn't have any artificial flavor as well. When you look at these chips, you can see those little flecks of brown flax seeds, chia seeds, the white sea salt, and other ingredients that are quite beautiful. You can check out below the list of ingredients that are in one of their snacks and my favorite; the Simply So Sweet Chili Tortilla Chips. If only these were available at Safeway, I would have purchased more. We really love these and are perfect for on the road or for when you are entertaining, don't you think?

What do I think of the soap?

- I really like this soap! It feels milky and creamy and it lathers up really well. It makes me feel really clean after shower. I have noticed that it doesn't dry up my skin either. Unlike any other regular soap, this one doesn't have that strong smell. My little girl likes to take warm baths with me and I don't worry about using the soap on her because doesn't irritate her skin. I want more!

What I think about the products? 

For the Body and Facial Serum:

- Both of the serum have a smell that reminds me of grandpa and grandma (if you are a Filipino you would probably understand). I mean, reminds me of those herbal oils that they would use to rub all over their body and they said it is good for you. I am not bothered by the smell at all because I am used to essential oils, but it reminds me of that. But it is nothing offensive, though. I love essential oils and I have a few collections of them. For some, it could take a while getting used to it. I don't like using it in the morning, but at night before going to bed, after a warm bath and washing my face.

- The body and facial serum are not greasy, it absorbs quickly into your skin, and I notice that within a few minutes of applying the body and facial serum, my face and skin are noticeably soft. It feels really good! 

- It was nice that in the package, they included the dropper and the sprayer for the serum bottles for easy application. All I had to do was I removed the caps of both serum bottles and replaced it with the dropper and the sprayer. 

- So far I have not had any irritations, but the only thing I have noticed is that whenever I use the facial serum it stings just a little bit and it goes away fast. - Yes, it is steep for the price because of the natural ingredients that the serums are made of, which are all natural ingredients.
