SAHM Style: My Second Day Of Running

It was my second day of running yesterday and by this time, I made it about a mile of run and walk. It's only been my second day of back to running so I want to take it easy. Hopefully soon I can run all to way without having to walk. I am really determined to get this going and make my mind and my body get used to running and love it. However, I really don't love running alone, but it's a good thing my running route is a safe place to go and there's not a lot of traffic either. My husband and I have to take turns watching the kids at home so I run first while he goes next. When I went for a run yesterday, I came home to my family sleeping on the reclining chair while reading a Traveler magazine. Precious! Also, I really need to get me something that I can use to listen to the music while running because that keeps me going. Like I am in some sort of a trance that I don't even feel tired easily.

SAHM Style: Out For A Run On A Windy Day

I finally went for a run this afternoon, but it was cut short. It was way too windy and the road was slick. I am hoping I get to go for a mile on my next run. Just little at a time. I can't believe I am really doing this. On top of me going back to running, I am also doing my six-week six pack challenge so let's see how far I can go. I hope I can make it all the way, stay active, and not feel lazy. I am one of those who always like to mix up my workouts and not just stick to one. Years ago when my husband and I visited his sister in Florida (photos here and here), I was motivated to workout so I can at least feel good at wearing my swimsuit. I mean, you know, it is Florida and you cannot not go to the beach and not wear a swimsuit. I did Gilad's workout both aerobics and toning. I did another fat-burning dance workout, I did at home belly dancing. I did core rhythm workout, I ran and I always like to finish my workout with a 30-minute non-stop hula hoop, then jump rope. I was motivated then because I had a goal. Right now, my goals are to stay healthy, stay active, and be the best that I can be. At least that is the plan. I like to think that maybe someday I can run a 5K race, but I don't know yet. We will see! Wish me luck, everyone!

My Review: 

-- I love my teal hoodie, my mesh bra top and my high waist short that I got from Onzie. The materials are wonderful and comfortable to wear. There is nothing itchy about it and it just flows. It is not something thin or that would fall apart at any time, but it is made of great quality. 

-- The teal hoodie has these thumb loops that will keep your sleeves down for warmth and looking stylish. I actually find that thumb loop very useful for when I wear my hoodie on a cold day hike. 

-- I have been wanting a type of bra that I can use for working out that is comfortable to wear and no underwire to deal with. When I saw that Onzie has these Mesh Bra, I was interested to try them. I am glad I picked out the bra because it is something that I need and still gives me the support. I just want to point out that this is not a padded bra so you already know something's going to be peeking through when it's cold. (LOL)

-- For my high waist short, I know I am not going to be wearing this outside while running or hiking, but it is something I can use when working out inside the house. I have been known to wear my 2-piece swimsuit on (TMI) when working out at home (especially during the warmer months) because I like the feeling of being free while sweating it out. For me, the less the better. Plus, it is a versatile piece that I can wear this summer when we go to the lake for a swim (not that I know how to swim, but more like lying on the sand basking in the warmth of the sun) or to the water park. I like the retro vibe that this high waist short gives and I have been looking for one since last summer and finally got it from Onzie. The only thing is, I am really short so instead of the high waist short landing just below my belly button, it goes all the way up. But hey, I still like it.

-- I love how Onzie's clothing is versatile because you don't have to wear it just for a yoga session, but you can wear it everyday or when you go hiking, jog, or swim. Product Review: Let's Yoga With Aurorae

Hey! Chetopian readers. It is time for another workout episode. How about a yoga, everyone? I must admit, I am not yoga expert, but I do a little bit of it. I am actually thinking of going into a yoga class and I learned that they do have it here in town at the Fitness Center. We'll see! 

I have mentioned before that it is kind of hard for me to get my momentum back, but now I am slowly going back to a workout routine and I am happy about that. I do a little bit of yoga in the morning and when the weather allows, it is nice to do it outside where the weather is nice and cool. I just wish it was a bit quieter (we live next to the railroad track, bridge and the Interstate. Uh huh!), but nonetheless, the workout must go on.

Product Review: My New Workout Clothes From Ellie

Lately, the temperature in our neck of the woods has started to hike up during the day time (even humid) so I thought it would be perfect to switch my workout clothes into something suitable for the weather. I needed a new pair of short pants and a top for working out because my old one is, well, old. Luckily, I got some new workout clothes from Ellie that are comfy and chic. I love that It has a nice stretch to it and I don't feel itchy wearing the clothes while working out. 

The Ellie work out clothes are made of great quality. And I am not just saying that for the sake of good review, but that's because it is true. To me, if you are going to workout a lot, you might as well invest in a good piece of clothing that not only lasts longer, but are also comfortable and makes you feel sexy too. 

Whenever I work out, I want to be comfortable in whatever I wear. The clothes must be something that allows me to breathe easily and doesn't stop me from moving around. This may be a TMI, but when I am in the house working out, I do tend to wear my two-piece (why not! It's just at home) because they are comfortable (and oh, I like to workout barefooted too). I don't have a whole lot of fabric clinging on to my body while you are moving around sweating like a pig. But, I don't have to do that quite often this summer anymore because I have new comfortable and chic work out clothes to wear.

My new Summer Workout Clothes

I am a shorty mama (4' 9") so even though the product detail says the length of the top is up to the hip, it is a bit longer on my short frame. But that's okay, I have no problem with that. 

I have been preparing myself (mentally and physically) to start running again. Years ago I did start running and I thought I was going to go from there and maybe start training for a 5k, but that didn't happen (I had my second child and lost my motivation). My goal this year would be, to be able to love running and make it a part of my daily routine and enter a 5K someday. Do I think I can do it? I hope so! For now, I am doing a 6-Week Ab Workout so wish me luck.

Product Review: Cool And Comfortable Workout Capri From ActivewearUSA

(This would be my first shot ever of me jumping. I thought I would look silly if I would be one of those that would take their photos jumping, but I thought since I am wearing this athletic Capri that it would be appropriate. And I did. So there you go!)

I had the privilege of reviewing a product from ActivewearUSA and I know this is a long overdue product review so it is my sincere apology. I was going to take some photos during our long hike, but very unfortunate I didn't take the camera with us so instead I took some photos of me while doing my early morning workout in our backyard.

 

The product came in the mail 12 days ago and I totally didn't know what would be in the box until I opened it and saw this awesome ALO Activewear Cropped Athletic Capri in Midnight Blue. 

I was only asked what my style is, what I do, and my size and so I didn't really know what I was going to get. I was so happy with what I got and I love the color. I tried this thing on and took it for a test and to be honest, it is the most comfortable athletic Capri I have ever tried on. It feels so soft, light and fluffy inside and it fits right and it doesn't get hot after a long walk/jog or when doing other types of workout. It has this inside gusset which helps me move around and I don't feel restrained at all, and it is cool. Like seriously!  It does not get hot like other pants would. I have never own a pair of workout Capri like this before. It is also perfect for someone who does Yoga, Pilates and running. Absolutely wonderful product and yes I would recommend it to a friend and to all. 

The material is made out of 87% Nylon, and 13% spandex. It has a lot of stretch. I love working out in these pants and this is absolutely my newest favorite. Why can't all pants be like this comfortable? Why can't jeans be this comfortable? I love wearing this all day, even if I am not working out. Great design, great fit, great product. I am very satisfied.

Sorry, but I have to have a butt shot so I could show you the wonderful design of the Capri. I love this! If you haven't got one, you should if you are going to be doing a lot of serious workout. I do agree that when working out it is also best to wear something that fits you well, comfortable and stylish as well. It helps to keep you motivated and feel good. I would say that the Alo Activewear Capri is definitely the ultimate workout pant. And I mean it!
