Chartreuse Chevron Bag Update

Remember this post earlier? Well, this is what I have so far. I am actually making a bag in this Chartreuse Chevron printed fabric and so far I can't get it done until I got some of the materials needed. I was at Walmart the other day and picked up two zippers and some binding and when we got home, I could not find the bindings I bought and the other zipper. It's gone!!! Seriously?!?! Because of that, my bag project is put to hold until we go out of town again and get the materials I need for this bag. Let me tell you, this is not the first time this thing happened. Like when you buy something and somehow it just disappears by the time you are home. This is really getting old. Have you had one of those moments? Anyway, I'll just have to wait since we are going to the city next week. Ah! The life of living in a small town. You can't get everything you need in town. Anyway, this is what I got so far. All I need right now is that one zipper that mysteriously disappeared, so I can assemble everything and the bag will be done. This bag also has four purse feet on the bottom and has plenty of space inside. More details about the bag when it's done.

I have been Chevron crazy lately as you can see. I first bought this red chevron  fabric and that made an inspiration to buy another one in different color to make another bag. This red one is still up for sale if anyone interested. Like I said I have been making few things to sell over at my etsy shop when I am finally ready to open it back. I want to make more handmade items and some vintage. Hopefully!

Another Bags For Grab (CLOSE)

Mini-cross body bag. 

I made this bag last year, but I never got to use it so I thought of selling it and giving others the chance to use it. It has a lot of room for things you need while traveling and even a bottle of water can fit in it. The black and white fabric was a leftover from a previous project and since I had a little bit of that left, then I used it to make this bag and I bought the red canvas. Made of good materials and sturdy. It has adjustable straps as well.

Another bag for grab is what I called the "Bucket Bag" because it has a round bottom. The bag has yellow lining, with metal rings and clasps, and has tons of room for your stuff. It can be a beach bag, diaper bag, even school bag, or just an everyday bag. The color and the Chevron effect is hot this season, so you will feel stylish while toting around with this bag. It does not have an adjustable strap, but it has a removable strap.

I also added a vintage lace around the top of the bag for that added detail and lace is also a big thing these days.

The yellow lining of the bag is sort of like your secret inside the bag as you never see it coming. It's an unexpected surprise when you look inside it. It has my tag sewn in inside as well. A Bag For Grab!

I have been busy lately with the sewing and everything and thank God our power line problem is now solved! Thank you City workers for the great work! Anyway, I have one customized bag that I have been working on and I am shooting for Friday to hopefully mail it to mommy Shiela. Mommy, please forgive me as it has taken me this long to finish your bag, but I will get it done for sure. Aside from working on the camera bag, I managed to whip up some tote bags and here is one of them. More tote bags are up once I get everything done.

Measurement: 16"W x 16"L x 3 1/2"D The strap is 8" from the top of the bag up. Plenty of room so you can put it up on your shoulder.

It does not have a pocket inside, but plenty of room. It has an interior lining and a vintage lace trim on the bottom with my new name tag.

It is perfect for an everyday tote bag to carry all your everyday necessities with lots of room to fill. It can be use as grocery bag, beach bag, or even a diaper bag for that really casual day while out and about.

The straps are made out of soft webbing.

It is sturdy and can load up tons of girly or baby things in this fun print tote bag.

The Messenger Bag Is On Its Way

After months of waiting to get the right bag hardware, I finally got to finish the messenger bag that a friend of mine ordered for her laptop. My goodness! I usually finish a bag for just few days and are able to ship it right away, but this time it has gotten way too long before I was able to finish it. We were not able to go out of town for a very long time so I did not get to shop for the things I need. I went online and was not able to find the right things I needed since they were all sold out. So next time we get out of town, it will be my stocking up time for more bag hardware or other materials I need just in case someone else is interested in ordering a customize bag from me. I hope!

Anyway, I was able to finished the bag and mailed in today so I hope it will get to her in time and that she will like it. If not, then I am toast! Crossing my fingers on that. I could share you some photos of the finished product, but then I kind of want to wait until she gets it and then I can share it you. So stay tuned and I'll show it to you the messenger bag for her laptop. Although I can show you a little sneak peak of the bag in the box, here we go!

Diaper Bag Set- In The Making

I wish everyone a happy weekend and hope you get to enjoy it with your family and friends. Anyway, it has been a short while since I posted something so here is what I have been busy of. A friend of mine who is expecting this July contacted me and told me she wanted to order a diaper bag from me something in pink. So I immediately went and researched online for a fabric and a possible design for her pink diaper bag. Once I saw some fabrics, I let her chose a fabric that she loves, then I went ahead and ordered it. The fabric is one of Riley Blake's collections called Riley Blake Summer Song Bird Song Pink and I ordered it from fabricworm.com. Awe! I love the fabric and I think it is perfect for this project. 

I started sewing this bag today hoping that I would get to finish the whole set, but then I had some help with my little son, so my plan for the day was not really successful. Anyway, I still have plenty of time to make it, so no pressure on me. This bag has two outside pockets and ten inside pockets. Yes! Twelve pockets all-in-all because she wanted to have more pockets in her bag for all the baby necessities. Wish is granted! 

What's nice about this bag is that it can be a handbag and a backpack as well. I saw this idea while I was browsing through the etsy shop the other day and I thought of doing the same thing with the diaper bag. I didn't have a pattern at all, but the dimensions of the bag, and the rest was all up to me to figure out. I think I pulled it off. What do you think? I just hope Joy will like it! Crossin my fingers on this one. One bag down and a few more things to sew. I still have to make a clutch, changing pad and some other things to sew that will go with the bag. More Bags!

Bags, bags and more bags! Yes! I went crazy making more bags. This time another two addition to my collection. Anyway, my computer problem seems to be doing a little bit okay now and I can at least blog something at the moment so I should hurry up and share this one to you. Thank you for those who visited my blog while I was gone. I promise as soon as I have time I will check back with you later. Right now I am monitoring the weather since there is a possibility of a tornado, which is really freaking me out since we don't have a basement or a shelter so I have to drive to the shelter.

Anyway, here are my bags! The first one I put batting in it to give structure to the bag and for softness and thickness. It has lots of space to carry all your things while out and about! There are no pockets at all, but it has a big space so it is okay. Next time, I make sure to put pockets inside.

I can't wait to have my own booth at the arts and crafts here in town this November. It will be my first time for sure, but I don't know how it's going to work out with me helping my husband at the race and having my own booth at the old gym. Hmmmm! We'll figure that out. For now, I am enjoying my sewing experience.

This one I call it a Ring 'O' Bag because of the ring that I put along with the strap. Does it even make sense? LOL! Anyway, I kind of like it, so I will call it that way. But hey I am open for any suggestions. LOL! It has three (3) pockets inside and one pleated pocket on the front and fabric flowers that I made to put some finishing touches to the bag.
