My Review:

- Just take a look at how awesome the design of the handle is. While I was browsing through all of the Ecommflash products, I fell in love with the Spatula. My kids enjoy making pancakes with me, and what a better kitchen tool to have in the kitchen for me and my kids to use. I love that it is not made of plastic nor metal. Plastic is just not safe to use and metal is good, but with kids helping me, it is best to use the wooden one. Because the handle of the wooden spatula doesn't heat up and safe for kids to use. 

- Here is something I have learned though. I made a mistake of leaving the spatula in the pan while I was cooking some hamburgers and when I came back, the spatula warped. Oh dear! It is a good thing I managed to save it and flattened it back. Never again will I do that. Big mistake on my part. Make sure NOT to do the same thing I did. 

- I have noticed that the Spatula has that wonderful natural aroma to it. 

- Another wonderful thing I love about the Spatula is that it is versatile. It is not just for making pancakes, but it is also good for when you are cooking hamburger, eggs, a whole lot more.

Alder Cooking & Tasting Spoon Set Review


Introduction

With proper cooking utensil, like the Alder Cooking & Tasting Spoon set, the task of cooking becomes much easier and enjoyable. Also, the end result or the dish also ends up being much tastier! Although there is no dearth of kitchen utensils in the market, it is very difficult to find a high quality Eco-friendly spoon set made out of wood like the one from Alder. It is worthwhile to invest in such good quality Ecommflash wooden spoon set because it would last a lifetime and offer great cooking experience at the same time.

Since the cooking and tasting wooden spoons in the set are heat-resistant therefore you won't feel  the heat when you are stirring hot dishes with it, so you can do away with the pesky gloves. Thus, say goodbye to burns from metal utensils in the kitchen! Moreover, these are made of very  durable wood, therefore they can survive multiple falls and rough handling. Even though the wood has the tendency to turn slightly darker as it ages, it is nothing to be concerned about because this is only natural and it does not affect the product's quality. 

One of the top reasons why it makes sense to opt for the Alder Cooking & Tasting spoon set is because it does not taint the dishes with a queer taste or odor when used. Besides, this set is very beautiful to look at and they are great accompaniment for non-stick cooking pans and  pots or the utensils that contain Teflon-coating as they do not scratch the delicate surface of these coatings. It can also be used liberally on glass bowls and surfaces and they do not get any scratches. 

(Don't worry. My little girl is safely supervised by me. No one is harmed during this process.)

My Review:

- This Cooking and Tasting Spoon set is my little girl and I's favorite thing to use when cooking. I get to use the bigger one and my little girl gets to use the smaller one. Well, she actually claimed it as her own spoon and no one else can use it, but my girl. Every time I am in the kitchen cooking, she comes in, grabs a chair next to me, opens up the drawer and grabs her little tiny wooden spoon and starts cooking. It has become the most used wooden spoon in the kitchen and I am glad we got it. Of course wooden spoon can break when you are not careful, so I make sure to take good care of my utensils. 

- I have pots and pans that can easily scratch up and the use of wooden spoon is a must. And these Ecommflash products are perfect to use.

Ladle


My Review:

- I love this ladle so much! Well, I love all the Ecommflash products I got. I love cooking soup, especially on a cold weather like today (freezing cold and snowy) and having this ladle is very handy. I do have a metal one, but having a wooden ladle makes more sense. Because metal is a heat conductor and the heat transfers to the handle, but with the wooden ladle it doesn't. And it is kind of fun using this wooden one. It makes me feel like back in the old days where they use a lot of wooden utensils. 

- I don't just use this for cooking soup though, but I also use it for cooking my favorite hot sikwati (ground up Cacao Beans) drink. 

Conclusion:

- All in all, we are very happy with the products that we got from Ecommflash. It will be one of those things that will get many uses in the kitchen. I don't use plastic utensils in my kitchen anymore, I got rid of them a long time ago, and having new sets of wooden utensils in my kitchen is wonderful. 

- They are easy to clean.

- I love that it doesn't have any harmful chemicals or with lacquer and glue that can be very harmful to our bodies. 

- One thing to know about wooden utensils though, is that with wood aging, it darkens up. But that's normal and nothing to worry about. It doesn't affect the taste of food and it still works great.

Today, I am doing a product review about a pair of shoes that instantly became my little girl's favorite pair. This pair of shoes is called the Child Roo Moccasin from Soft Star. I mean, I can tell because the moment she saw it in the box, she grabbed it from me and she didn't even need help putting them on because she managed to do it on her own. After putting her new pair of Mocs, she asked me to get her dress, a bag, and a hat. My two-year old little girl is growing up fast. What's In The Mail?

Child Roo Moccasin- Suede Fuchsia/ Emerald

- Look who's excited to have her new pair of Soft Star Child Roo Moccasin! They are the cutest thing ever and even my dear husband agrees with me. My little girl sure was excited to wear her new mocs when I opened up the box. Once she was all dressed up and was ready to go outside, I was able to snap some photos of her wearing the shoes. And of course, she didn't want to take them off. And I don't blame her. And you want to know why? Because they are super soft and comfortable on her little feet. The inside is soft, plush, and it doesn't give her blisters. Not to mention how cute the style and the color of the shoes! I know! If only these were my size, I would totally wear them. 

-  Another thing you need to know about all of Soft Star's footwear is that they are handmade to order with Eco-friendly leathers, sheepskin and genuine Vibram soles. And, they are Made In USA. Yaye! I am really happy about that. 

- I was told that it will take about a week or so for me to get the shoes since they handcraft them after you placed your order. And they were right about it. I still think they did a great job of making the shoes and able to ship it to me within 12 days. 

- My little girl wears size 6, but when I was told that they can be a bit snug, I wanted to order up a size so it will have plenty of room to grow. I want her to really enjoy wearing this pair of shoes. These are perfect for little ones feet because they don't hurt, they are soft, and comfortable.

What Do I Think About The Bags?

- I am quickly drawn to the vibrant colors and fun prints of the Koteli bags. What used to be a boring utilitarian everyday shopping bags are now turned into fun and fashionable items. And an earth-friendly too! 

- Being able to use these bags to help save wildlife is enough reason for me. Plus, not only it is reusable, it is foldable too. You can fold it in its own pocket so you can store it in your bag/purse and have it ready the next time you shop. The Koteli bags don't take up a lot of space and the are lightweight. It is a great addition to my reusable grocery bags.  It was easy to take it out of the pocket and easy to fold it back in. But, in case you are having a hard time figuring out how to properly fold the bag, watch the video above. These bags don't smell funky at all. 

- I know these are reusable, foldable shopping bags, but I can use it for anything, basically. It is well-made and durable. It is not super thin and not stretchy. I also like to use the bags whenever we are on the road for my kids changing clothes, snacks, water, toys, books, diapers, wipes, and whatever it is that we need while we are out and about. And oh, these would make great beach bags as well for storing those wet clothes. Aha! It can be an everyday bag. 

- If this was my money, it was worth the buy. Yes, I am happy with the Koteli Reusable/Foldable Bag that I received. Their bags are available in different sizes, colors, and prints. Thank you, Koteli!

Product Review: Stainless Steel Dish Set For Kids From Life Without Plastic

Two weeks ago, my family received some complimentary products from Life Without Plastic for free in exchange for an honest review and opinion. The items we got are two (2) 3-Piece Stainless Steel dish set for my kids to enjoy. 

As a mom, I am well aware of the issue about using plastic and what it can contribute to our health and environment. A few months ago, I made a decision that I am going to slowly replace all of our plastic products that are in our house. We are not 100% plastic free yet, but we are slowly getting there. One of the things that we don't do is not to use plastic when heating food or when storing warm food as we are afraid of chemicals leaching from plastic and into our food. Upon searching for some Eco-friendly kid products, I stumbled upon Life Without Plastic. I was interested in their products that I contacted the company, and I was lucky that they agreed to work with me for a product review. Thus, I chose the dish sets for my kids. I am not a perfect mom, but I love my kids so much, I always want the best for them.

What is Life Without Plastic? 

- We launched Life Without ("LWP") in 2006 after several years of daydreaming about how to make a contribution to reducing the large quantities of plastic that are consumed every second of every day around the world. We played with ideas for raising awareness about the issue. We wanted to address the environmental disaster that the consumption of plastic is causing, and the damage the leaching plastic can cause to human and animal health. We quickly realized that before we could effectively help people reduce their plastic consumption, we had to be able to point them toward non-plastic alternatives that could replace the plastic items currently used in day-to-day life. When Life Without Plastic was created, very few alternatives existed in the North American market especially for food and drink containers. Our son was born in 2003, and he was the catalyst. He made us look more actively for alternatives in North America and in other countries around the world. This is how Sanctus Mundo, our unique product brand, came into existence. 

- There are now many alternatives to plastic products available thanks, for example, to the tremendous media attention on Bisphenol A over the past two years. Yet one thing we are noticing is that the quality of these alternatives varies signigicantly. There are some wonderful new products created with a real concern for quality, health, the environment, and worker condition. But there are other products out there that are unsafe and unethically manufactured. For example, not all stainless steel is created equal, and as with many things price is often an indicator of quality. Where a product is made can also provide clues about its quality, that is why we indicate the country of origin in the description of every single product we sell.

Children deserve the best. This dish set is it. It is made of the high quality food grade 18-8/304 stainless steel, and has been tested for lead in compliance with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (2008) (CCPSA). The unbreakable set includes a good-sized plate with special flattened sides to make it easy for small hands to carry. There is also an insulated, double-walled bowl and tumbler to protect those same hands from hot foods and liquids. They keep warm things warm and cool things cool!

Our Review:

What We Like About It?

- The fact that they are stainless steel, safe to use, high quality, ethically made dish sets that honestly my kids love using. And I do too!

- I also love the insulated double-wall feature of the bowl and tumbler because it keeps my kids hands from possibly burning. Although you shouldn't even serve them piping hot food, but you get the point. 

- I don't worry about the kids using the dishes and possibly drop it because it is unbreakable and won't hurt them. 

- Easy to wash by hands and also dishwasher safe. Even with tough greases, the dishes are easy to clean and doesn't leave a funky smell. 

- We like to go camping during the warmer months so these dishes are perfect to take with us. Yes, I can buy disposable plastic or paper dishes, but I don't want to spend money on that when I have this. 

- We also love the design of the dishes because the name of the company and the happy turtle is etched on the dishes so no worries about painted name or the design from fading away. It has clean lines, simple, fancy looking, and functional. 

- If you have noticed, some of the stainless steel products are of thinner and lighter side (too thin and too light for some), but these dishes are not. They have a little bit of weight to them, but not too heavy, and kids can easily carry them around. They are not thin either. The tumblers does not tip over easily. 

What We Are Not So Crazy About? 

- The stainless steel tumbler is slick and my little girl has tiny hands so sometimes she has a hard time grasping on the tumblers, but so far she hasn't dropped it yet. Although it is designed to have that little groove for easy handling, it would be nice if it has a handle, too. They do have other stainless steel tumblers for kids with handles, but I am sure I am not the only one who also likes this style that has kids.

- That's it! I have nothing else to say because they are that great of a quality.

And oh, it is not microwavable safe, which isn't a big deal for us, but it might be for some. 

Do I think Life Without Plastic dish sets are worth the buy? 

- Absolutely! If I were to buy this with my own money, I would. Think about it, if you buy paper plates or the plastic plates for your kids, how much is that going to cost you? And think about health wise  too! Sure, I can just use the dishes that we have at home that aren't plastic, but they are too big and heavy for kids and can break. Plus they deserve something special. These dishes are of high quality, durable and can last them for a long time. It is an investment piece that will grow with my kids and someday when they grow old and have their own family, they will be able to hand it down to their own kids, too.

Product Review: Green Toys For Eco-Conscious Kids

I was in the middle of painting our walls in the house when a little man jumped out of joy when he saw the UPS man coming towards the door carrying a huge box. I had mentioned it to him earlier that some time this week, your new toy might be coming. Sure enough, the UPS man delivered it right to our door.

My Review: 

- What do I think about these toys? They are wonderful toys that not only makes our Mother-Nature happy, but kids like my little man happy too. 

- The boxes that the toys came in with was easy to open. Like it said, it didn't have any twist-ties, plastics or anything, but just the boxes itself. Cute too! 

- The toys didn't have that funky smell like some brand new toys have. 

- There aren't any metals, rubbers or anything that can come off easily and it really is sturdy. 

- I love the fact that you can wash it in the dishwasher for easy cleaning and disinfecting. 

- No Batteries needed. 

- Green Toys is all about safe and fun toys that our little kids can enjoy. Even my little girl loves to play with these toys when she gets the chance to play with it. 

- I have nothing negative to say about these toys because my kid is happy and content and am one happy mama too, knowing the fact that he is safe playing with these toys. These have provided hours and hours of entertainment for my boy. He would take it outside once in a while, but he is really taking great care of these not to get dirty or broken.
